Get IT!!!!
Sometimes, I just don't feel like I can get up for it. Sometimes it's a mental process that won't let me focus my energy into getting my body to perform. Sometimes it's the physical feeling of CRAP because I spent the previous day eating pizza and ice cream covered in peanut butter cups and/or Oreo's (not a promo for Oreo's). If it's the former and I couldn't find a good enough excuse to not workout, I would get myself moving and have some kind of self-defeating thought that would derail me and that would be the excuse to not workout.
"Man, I'm not going to be able to take this for 50 more minutes..."
"I didn't get enough sleep, how about I just take today off..?"
"(fill in the blank life crap) is really bothering me. I can't focus on this right now..."
"Was that a pain in my foot? I better be careful and take it easy..."
With the exception of having a legitimate pain in part of the body, these things must be overcome to get where you want to go! And you must take immediate action. Steps must be made deliberately and daily. If you want to make serious change in your life, you can't half-ass it. That's why you are in a state of needing change. The mind is a theoretical muscle that can and must be exercised. Through daily focus and effort, you can train your mind to save the world or be the saddest piece of human scum that has ever existed.
Grow some mental toughness! You know in the movies, where a character must face insurmountable challenges and they find themselves magically transforming and discovering strength they didn't know they had? Sometimes you have to act like a hero and beat those negative thoughts or insecurities into the ground! It's you versus the dark side. They don't want you to succeed, they come to do battle and every day you have to win that fight!
You would be surprised by how much effect having fun and pumping yourself up can have. Do whatever it takes to get started. Be the hero for your future self. Save the world. Get delusional! Get your ass in motion and your ass will thank you later!
